How Not To Use a Grocery List – Week 34

Grocery shopping? I’m game! Here’s how I did this week:

What was on the list?

  • Chicken
  • Some sort of fruit
  • Sunflower seed spread
  • Milk

What did I come home with?

  • Canned Peaches
  • Canned Pears
  • Canned Pineapple
  • Chicken Breast (15 packages of 3 breasts each)
  • UTZ honey BBQ chips
  • Sunflower seed spread
  • Red Seedless Grapes
  • Cantaloupe
  • Milk
  • Grapefruit

What was thrown out this week:

  • Sweet Potato… went from perfect to squishy overnight… strange

Anything from the garden?

  • Around 20 tomatoes
  • 1 cucumbers
  • 5 cucamellons (more on these later)

How much did I save this week?

$100.68… which is 52.05%… which is quite a bit. I used absolutely no coupons this week so these savings are only from store sales. Harris Teeter had a lovely sale that was buy 2 get 3 free on their chicken breasts. So we spent quite a bit of time this week cutting up chicken and freezing it. This should last us until they have this sale again sometime next quarter. Other than some hamburger and hot dogs for some grilling nights we should be set with just this. *Fingers crossed*
